More About Our Areas of Practice:
ASBESTOS
Asbestos is a dangerous material, and testing for asbestos can be a dangerous project. Our team of certified Asbestos Building Inspectors and Asbestos Air Monitoring Specialists are here to ensure the health and safety of you and the ones you care about most. Alta can safely test for asbestos and recommend professionals for removing asbestos and asbestos containing materials. We guarantee safety on the job.
DRINKING WATER
Using EPA Drinking Water Sampling Protocol, we offer testing for drinking water contamination of common contaminants such as lead, asbestos, giardia, total coliforms and E. coli. Additional sampling services available upon request.
MOLD
Molds are simple, microscopic organisms, present virtually everywhere, both indoors and outdoors. While most forms of mold of harmless, some can lead to negative health effects in people- especially after repeat exposure. Alta's certified Mold Inspectors can help determine sources of mold growth and recommend protocols for remediation. We offer a wide variety of mold sampling services including air clearance sampling for mold remediation projects.
PHASE I/II ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENTS
The Phase I ESA involves a review of records, a site inspection, and interviews with owners, occupants, neighbors and local government officials. While sampling and laboratory analysis are not always included in this phase, they should be conducted by an environmental professional trained in the appropriate standards. If a Phase I ESA identifies potential contamination of the site by hazardous materials, a Phase II ESA may be conducted. The Phase II ESA includes sampling and laboratory analysis to confirm the presence of hazardous materials.
LEAD
Lead is an all too common soft metal used in a number of industrial applications, including lead-based paints. Lead is neuro-toxic when consumed, causing harmful effects when inhaled or otherwise absorbed into the body. All Lead-based paints should be considered hazardous when in damaged or deteriorated conditions. In Colorado, housing and child-occupied facilities built before 1978 are subject to Colorado Regulation No. 19 and require testing prior to disturbing suspected lead-containing building materials. Alta Environmental offers limited lead-based paint screenings to ensure safety and regulatory compliance during renovation projects.
